Elizabeth Auriemma is from Easton, Connecticut and will be a senior at Gettysburg College next year. She is a psychology major and a member of Psi Chi, the psychology honors society. After college, she plans to attend graduate school to focus on developmental and child studies. Elizabeth loves working with kids and has volunteered at The Growing Place, the daycare on her college campus. She is also an Italian studies minor and studied abroad in Florence, Italy for the spring semester of her junior year which she found to be a fantastic experience. Elizabeth enjoys reading, soccer, dancing, and traveling and is very excited to get to know and work with all of the kids at Camp Breakthru this summer! |

Erin Barney will be a junior at Stamford High School this fall, where she is an honors student. She has worked as a counselor for the past three summers at Getner Barn's horseback riding camp and has been horseback riding for five years now. Erin is also a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, which she has been studying for the past eight years. Erin loves working with children, and has experience with special needs children. |

Ryan Barney is 18 years old and is going to be a sophomore at the University of Connecticut, where he is an honors student in the business program. Ryan has been working with children for over five years now, first starting as a junior instructor at his Tae Kwon Do school. He has been at Camp Breakthru for the past two summers, and has experience working with special needs children both inside and outside of camp. |

Kate Gasparini is from Stamford and is a rising senior at the University of Michigan where she is majoring in psychology, minoring in Spanish, and is a member of the psychology honor society Psi Chi. Kate is focusing on child development in her studies and plans to become a child clinical psychologist. She loves working with children of all abilities as well as those with special needs. Kate has a lot of experience working with children on the autism spectrum through her work at the Autism Center at Michigan where she is a research assistant and also volunteers in the social skills classes. She has also worked as a teacher's aide in a second grade classroom where she helped students with learning difficulties complete their work. Kate enjoys playing the piano, acting, singing, and running, and she is looking forward to spending the summer working and playing with your children at Camp Breakthru! |

Amy Sierpina is 20 years old and will be a junior at the University of Connecticut. She is in the Honors Program majoring in Psychology and minoring in History. She will be interning this fall with a professor in her study “Language Development in Children with Autism,” and hopes to attend Graduate school in two years to focus on child development. Amy loves playing volleyball, doing yoga and being outdoors. She plans on studying abroad in New Zealand next spring and while there hopes to study the native culture as well as focus on marine biology. Amy has spent many years working with children as a volleyball coach, an assistant art teacher, a Sunday school teacher and a camp counselor. This will be her second summer at Camp Breakthru and is very excited to working there again. |
